 Kuah Town

Kuah Town is not just a shopping paradise but a vibrant hub of activity that captivates every visitor with its unique charm.

The centre of Kuah has some old-fashioned shops. In most stores you can purchase liquor and tobacco (tax-free). On the outskirts of the town, you will find one of the few places in Langkawi where you can do real 'Western' shopping - the Langkawi Fair.

Jetty Point is the place where all boats to the mainland, to Penang and to Thailand (Koh Lipe) depart and arrive. Right in front of the building you can find numerous small shops that sell tickets to many destinations. Here you will also find many small offices that sell tours around the island.

The heart of the Kuah town pulses around the iconic Eagle Square, where the magnificent statue of an eagle poised for flight welcomes visitors, symbolizing the island’s name and heritage. This landmark is a favoured spot for photos and provides a glimpse into the local culture and lore.

For those interested in a bit of culture, several temples and mosques around Kuah reflect the spiritual diversity of the island. Visiting these sites offers a peaceful retreat and a deeper understanding of the local communities.
